How do I get paid?
We make payments via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to ensure a secure and efficient process. Once your vehicle is dropped off or picked up, we initiate payment the same day and provide confirmation that the funds have left our account. Depending on your financial institution, the funds may take up to three business days to reflect in your account, though most customers receive their payment by the next business day.

If applicable, payments to lienholders can take up to four weeks to process. Additionally, same-day payment is now available at our facilities in Mississauga, Etobicoke, and Bedford if specific day and time criteria are met. Please speak with your advisor for more details.

Once you schedule your pick-up, one of our team members will be in touch to let you know what to expect. You’ll want to remove personal belongings, remove your licence plate, and gather all sets of keys. Our field specialist will also conduct a final inspection to confirm the vehicle is as described.

We ask for more than just “Excellent,” “Good,” and “Poor” conditions to give a more accurate evaluation. It’s important that you read each question carefully and answer to the best of your knowledge, as discrepancies or undisclosed damage discovered during inspection may impact your offer.
To ensure fairness and accuracy, we offer three primary condition options for evaluating your car:
Excellent: The car has no imperfections, both inside and out.
Good: The car shows normal wear but no major cosmetic issues.
Poor: The car has several cosmetic issues that would require repair.
If you have any questions or need assistance, our advisors are happy to walk you through your appraisal once your appointment is scheduled.
We also take into consideration the accuracy of the accident claims provided compared to the Carfax history. If there are discrepancies between the two, it may result in a deduction from the initial offer.
If you’re unsure whether any damage to your vehicle might affect your offer, simply take a few pictures and send them to offers@Kingofcars.ca. We’ll let you know if any adjustments are needed. If you’re not satisfied with the updated offer, you’re free to walk away at any point in the process with no penalty. Your updated offer will be reflected in your King of Cars Account, and it will remain valid for 7 days, giving you plenty of time to consider it and shop around without any pressure.
Although we will accept any drivable car on trade, there are certain vehicles we are unable to purchase at this time. It could be out of our price range or it could be a vehicle we are not able to sell on our website. Certain vehicles that have costly repairs or extensive damage we are also unable to purchase.
If you have a loan on the car that you’re selling, King of Cars will pay off the loan and deduct it from the value of our offer. Loans can take anywhere between 10-30 business days to be processed, depending on the lender. There is a one-time lien discharge fee of $199 that is applied to your bill of sale if you would like King of Cars to take care of the loan for you.
Yes, we allow up to a 1,000-km variance in mileage without impacting your offer. If the variance exceeds 1,000 km, simply inform your advisor. They’ll update the mileage or vehicle details for you to ensure everything stays accurate.
